| Asbestos Awareness Week 26-30 November 2012
Lithgow City Council has partnered with the Asbestos Diseases Research Institute (ADRI) as part of a week-long national campaign created to be the first line of defence against the ‘third wave’ of asbestos related diseases caused by inhaling asbestos fibres while renovating or maintaining homes.
“Don’t play Renovation Roulette!” That’s the message Council, the Asbestos Diseases Research Institute and the Asbestos Education Committee is sending to all Australians during national Asbestos Awareness Week.

Asbestos Fact Sheet
Asbestos has been used in thousands of homes throughout Australia. It is most commonly found in fibro. In 2003, the manufacture and supply of asbestos was banned.
