Lithgow's Water Supply Dam
Lithgow Dam #2 was built by the Public Works Department in 1907 as a water supply dam to service Lithgow. In 1914 the dam was raised by 3 feet (0.91 m) to increase storage capacity. It is on Farmers Creek located about 5.5 km north-east of Lithgow and about 0.5 km upstream of Lithgow Dam #1. It is a concrete arch dam with a free overfall spillway and a straight gravity section on the right abutment. The dam is a maximum 26.5 m high and the crest length is 71 m. The angle of the arch is 92°.
Lithgow Dam #2 is located within the Hawkesbury sandstone formation that is predominant in the Blue Mountains.
